A new company type (Administrative) has been added which will improve how reports are handled for resellers and partners such as Creation Express and iPersonalyze.

All companies must have a parent administrative company set. When creating a new company, the system will attempt to automatically determine which to use based on the following rules in order of precedence:

  1. If the current user has the Staff user role, then the user will be able to explicitly select the parent administrative company.

  2. If the current user does not have the Staff user role, then the parent administrative company will be inherited from the user’s primary company.

  3. The Custom Gateway company will be used as the default.

In addition, it is now also possible to assign an explainer to a company. This is to allow easy identification of which explainer is responsible for which account and to allow targeted reporting for each explainer.

As before, when creating a new company, the system will try to determine the explainer automatically using the following rules:

  1. If the current user has the Staff user role, then the user will be able to explicitly select the explainer from a dropdown. For a user to appear in the dropdown, the user must have the “CG Department” field set to “Explainer”.

  2. Otherwise, the explainer will be inherited from the user’s primary company.

Note Manually setting a company’s administrative parent company is only possible via the V2 interface.
